New Healthy Homes Pineapples awards category announced

The TCPA is excited to announce a new Healthy Homes category as part of The Pineapples awards. Launched in 2019 by The Developer in partnership with Design Council, The Pineapples awards are unique in seeking to celebrate great places.

The new Healthy Homes award, sponsored by Wates Group, will recognise recently completed housing schemes that promote the health of residents and citizens and will be judged according to the TCPA’s 12 Healthy Homes Principles.

Healthy Homes Principles

Projects can be mixed-use developments, social housing or a small development sites. The judges will be looking for new homes that incorporate healthy living into their design, delivery and the ongoing governance of the project. The homes should be located in the UK, they must be inhabited at the time of entering. There is no timeline restriction in terms of when the housing completed, however it is recommended that this has been a notable year in the life of the project. It must be able to be visited by judges during the judging period, if shortlisted.

The early bird deadline for submissions is Thursday 10 October 2024 (£225 per entry), with the final entry deadline of Thursday 28 November 2024 (£325 per entry). We encourage any organisation who has adopted the Healthy Homes Pledge and is implementing the Principles to make a submission.

Further information, including entry criteria, the judging panel and key dates can be found on the Festival of Place website: The Pineapples
