Guide 14: Building climate resilient large-scale new communities

New Garden Cities and large-scale developments must be delivered to withstand the impacts of climate change over the next 100 years. They must be places that are fit for the future and environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. They must have a long-term vision to deal with climate change impacts within a local democratic context, allowing communities to participate in forming and implementing solutions to the problems that we face.

This guide, published with support from the Lady Margaret Paterson Osborn Trust, explores the overarching requirements of a successful adaptation strategy, provides recommendations on how masterplanning can be carried out to ensure climate change adaptation and provides recommendation on delivery.
